Cheryl Wagner

Gemini- and Emmy-award winning children’s television producer Cheryl Wagner has entertained generations of children around the world. She is best known as the creator of The Big Comfy Couch, which airs in Canada, the United States, Mexico, South America, Australia, Britain, Turkey, South Africa, Singapore, the Middle East, Israel, Africa, and Indonesia. Earlier in her career, Wagner contributed as a performer and puppeteer on the much-loved series Fraggle Rock alongside Jim Henson, Mr. Dressup alongside Ernie Coombs, Today’s Special, and Sesame Street Presents Follow That Bird. She is the President of Periscope Pictures, Inc., a Charlottetown-based production company that creates original, screen-based entertainment, including the web series Bunny Bop! A member of the Writers’ Guild of Canada, she sits on the board of the Women in Film and Television (WIFT) – Atlantic, and is a recipient of the WIFT Wave Award for her contributions to Canadian film and television.

Today's Special: Live on Stage

In a special TV presentation of "Today's Special," Jodie, Muffy, and Sam prepare for a live theatre performance. However, Jeff faces a problem as his magic hat won't function outside the store, preventing him from joining them. Undeterred, he sneaks into the costume box bound for the theatre. Upon arrival, Muffy is late, prompting Jodie and Sam to begin the show without her. Meanwhile, Jeff, trapped in the box, finds himself turned into a mannequin without his magic working. Big Comfy Couch

The Big Comfy Couch is a Canadian children's television series about Loonette the Clown and her dolly Molly, who solve everyday problems on their "Big Comfy Couch". It aired from 1992 until early 2006. It was produced by Cheryl Wagner and Robert Mills, directed by Wayne Moss and Mills. It premiered on March 2, 1992 in Canada and in 1995 in the USA on public television stations across the country. There is also a Spanish version of the show titled, "El Sofa de mi Imaginacion". It also aired in the United Kingdom on GMTV's kids block. The show's format revolves around Loonette the Clown, who lives with her dolly Molly on the eponymous Big Comfy Couch. Episodes are generally focused on a theme or a lesson. For example, Season 3's episode "Full of Life" explored the concepts of "full" and "empty", while "Sticks and Stones" dealt with name-calling and teasing.

Poko

Poko was a stop motion TV series about a young boy, his pet dog, and his toy monkey. Produced in Canada by Halifax Film, a DHX Media Company, Poko was created by Jeff Rosen, It began production in 2003 and ended in 2006 after three production cycles. Poko is still broadcast in Canada on CBC Television in the Kids' CBC programming block, is still broadcast in Turkey on Yumurcak TV and in Australia by ABC.
