On May 4, 2017, the police found a burned car on one of the roads of the Pantano de Foix, near Barcelona. Inside the vehicle they discovered the remains of a charred body. On October 5, 2004, firefighters received a call about a fire in an apartment in the Bellvitge neighborhood of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. Upon discovering the bodies of two women, they quickly alerted the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), who found the victims bound, gagged, and with multiple stab wounds.
