A two-part TV drama about the life and work of Jozef Murgaš, a world-renowned inventor, talented painter, and Slovak patriot. The first part focuses mainly on his life in Slovakia and describes Murgaš's student years. He leaves the picturesque surroundings of his native Tajov to attend high school in Banská Bystrica and later, at his mother's request, continues his studies in theology at the Esztergom Seminary. However, his studies did not end with graduation from this faculty. His love of painting was stronger and led him first to a one-year art preparatory course in Budapest and then to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. However, he was unable to complete his studies due to brutal intervention by the authorities. The second part depicts Murgaš's life in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, in the United States. He worked there as a priest in the local church, which he built together with other Slovaks. He also contributed to the establishment of a school for Slovak children in Wilkes-Barre.

Netrpezlivosť srdca

A TV adaptation of a novel by Austrian writer Stefan Zweig. The tragic love story of a lame girl and a lieutenant provides a framework for reflection on human compassion. A young officer wants to gain status and is looking for a "good match." He insinuates himself into the home of a local wealthy man, partly because he loves his niece. Under unfortunate circumstances, he discovers that the wealthy man's daughter has been paralyzed from the waist down for some time. She takes the officer's apologies and frequent visits as a sign of affection. She believes him and begins to hope again that she will recover. This is also so that she can be an equal partner to him, like other women. At first, the officer plays along.

Estates confusion

The original television production of the play by Jozef Gregor Tajovský. A drama from a Slovak village at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, in which the author shows the senselessness of linking human destinies for the sake of property. In the play, the author showed how property had taken over the entire thinking and actions of the farmer Palčík and his wife Mary. They persuaded the poor Ľavkovs to give them their son Ďurek as their own and marry him to Zuzka, with the understanding that they would transfer all the property to them after their death.

Svědek umírajícího času

At the beginning was the Slovak television series Lekár umierajúceho czasu (Doctor of Dying Time), dedicated to the Rudolphine-era scientist Jan Jesenius. He ended up on the scaffold along with other gentlemen after losing the anti-Habsburg uprising. When director Miloslav Luther conceived the idea of making an abridged version of the footage for cinema, he had to not only rebuild the storyline but also dub it into Czech. However, the result was only an illustrative puzzle, describing the various stages of the hero's turbulent life.
