Hoshi 35 (HOSHI 35 Hoshi Sanjūgo) is an upcoming crowdfunded tokusatsu kaiju film which will be written and directed by Hiroto Yokokawa and co-directed by Kazuma Yoneyama and Daisuke Sato, with effects by Sato. Presented by MRTS Co., Ltd. and produced by 3Y Co., Ltd., it will star Megumi Odaka, Daijiro Harada, Jun Hashizume, Hiroshi Miyasaka, and Yumiko Tanaka. The project, whose name is derived from the Japanese word for "star" (hoshi), will celebrate Odaka's 35th anniversary as an actress and will be her first film role in close to 30 years. It’s the mid-1970s at a time before the TV recording function became commonplace. The Kaijuu Club is a group of youths that loves fancy special effects series such as Ultraman and Ultra Seven. They put everything into researching monsters which appear in these series from every possible angle and hold editorial meetings to publish a fan magazine on the monsters. The members of the club would gather at their usual coffee shop and have enthusiastic and heated discussions without being daunted by the chilly stares of the people around them.

The story takes place in Japan in both 1986 and 2006. The 1986 storyline follows a gamer named Daisuke who wants to confess his feelings for Kumiko, a girl he likes — all while trying to reclaim his copy of the Famicom (NES) game Mighty Bomb Jack that he lent out. In 2006, the hapless game company manager Arino-kacho struggles to complete Mighty Bomb Jack in front of fans. The storylines of the boy who loves Famicom and the middle-aged man who loves Famicom eventually merge into one.
