Giulio is a widower, struggling to raise three sons, Marco, Rudi, and Mimmo, as best he can. He lives in Rome's working-class Garbatella neighborhood and runs a wine shop with his two brothers. Lucia, meanwhile, comes from Milan's middle-class background; she's divorced and trying to rebuild her life with her two daughters, Eva and Alice. The two meet by chance and recognize each other: they had a fling as teenagers, many years earlier. Yet first love is never forgotten, and so Giulio and Lucia find themselves together again. Their meeting, however, changes not only the lives of a man and a woman, but also those of two families as different as could be. Two families who find themselves living under the same roof without even having had the time to get to know each other well.

The 2006-2007 season of Viva Radio 2 debuted on October 8, 2006, with a special prime-time episode airing simultaneously on Radio 2 and Rai Uno. The special guest was Lelio Luttazzi, returning to television after many years, who dueted with Fiorello in "Chiedimi Tutto." Given its considerable success, the television experiment was repeated on November 19, 2006, with special guest Mike Bongiorno, achieving ratings peaks of 36%.

The famous Italian football coach Oronzo Canà has retired to a villa in Apulia. Now, old and tired, he is enjoying a quiet life there, cultivating his vineyard, when suddenly he is summoned to Milan, in northern Italy. There the elderly chairman of a great Lombard ("Longobarda") club is suffering from dementia and has lost his powers of judgement, and the club's manager has been fired. He has decided to bring back Oronzo Canà as trainer, remembering him from his great football team of thirty years before, tasking him with bringing the club back to its old winning ways. Oronzo puts his trust in the intervention of a Russian billionaire who has bought the club for promotion. But it is a deception.

The hosts' challenge, in this highly experimental format, is to condense all the hallmarks of classic variety into the short span of two minutes: music and songs with a live orchestra, dance routines, monologues and comedy sketches, duets with guests, and satire on customs and society with references to current events. There will also be a host of celebrities who have become famous throughout the various editions of the radio show, of which these television segments are an original preview.
