The Oliver Pocher Show is a late-night show with Oliver Pocher shown by Sat.1 in Germany on Fridays. The show is a mix of late-night comedy and personality. Each broadcast begins with stand-up comedy. There are generally two celebrity guests. During the first season, Pocher's father Gerard frequently appeared on the show as a sidekick. It is recorded early on Friday evenings in the old Residenz Theater in Köln. For special occasions there are also live shows. The first season began in October 2009 and ended in April 2010. The second season will begin on 27 August 2010. Pocher and Johannes B. Kerner where both contracted by SAT.1 as white hopes to put an end to severe losses of quotas after several years. Instead both of them attract disappointingly few viewers - long contract periods protect them from cancellations. However, there have been significant changes on the concept of the show: the typical late night desk was replaced by a couch, the band by a female DJ, Pocher's father by two nasty baby puppets who acted as sidekicks for several months. The show is still undercutting the low quotas and shares of cheap comedy reruns which currently fill most earlier time slots on SAT.1's Friday evening. The so called Fun Freitag is famous for his series of spectacular failures - Pocher's former show partner and German late night legend Harald Schmidt warned him about that in several interviews. Schmidt himself continued his show, the Harald Schmidt Show in autumn 2011. The last episode of Oliver Pocher Show aired in March 2011.

The Fisherman and His Wife

A shared love of fish leads to a variety of romantic predicaments in this offbeat comedy from writer and director Doris Dörrie. While on a business trip to Japan, Otto and Leo meet Ida (Alexandra Maria Lara), a German tourist who is studying fashion design. Ida begins traveling with the two men, and surprisingly develops an infatuation with the rumpled Otto instead of the handsome Leo. When Ida discovers she's pregnant with Otto's child, the two marry, and upon their return to Germany, Ida attempts to join in the business by creating a line of scarves decorated with koi patterns. However, the honeymoon proves short-lived, and Ida's presence creates a rift between Otto and Leo, as the latter sets up his own concern, raising koi with his new bride, Yoko (Young-Shin Kim).

Sarah Kuttner – Die Show was a German television talk show that ran on VIVA and was then transferred to MTV under the title Kuttner. in mid-2005. It ran from August 2, 2004 to August 3, 2006. Hosted by Sarah Kuttner, it was a more youthful variation on the traditional late show concept with a sidekick, Sven Schuhmacher, and various national as well as international celebrity guests. The show also featured humorous reports by Michael Wigge and Caroline Korneli, its own band and musical guests performing live on stage. When MTV took over other German music channel VIVA in 2004, it was suggested, the show would be cancelled, which drew massive protests from fans. It was then cut from four shows per week to just two shows and later transferred to MTV and renamed Kuttner. Production was relocated from Cologne to Berlin. MTV cancelled Kuttner. in summer 2006 due to low ratings and high production costs.

In October 1989, the part of the West Berlin borough of Kreuzberg called SO 36, had been largely shut off by the Wall from the rest of the city for 28 years. A lethargic sub-culture of students, artists, bohemians and barflys had flourished among crumbling buildings. Part of that microcosm is barkeeper Frank, semi-formally called 'Herr Lehmann' by friends and patrons. He hangs out drinking, sports utter disregard for anything beyond SO 36 and lazily pursues an affair with cook Katrin. The Bambi, often called the Bambi Award and stylised as BAMBI, is a German award presented annually by Hubert Burda Media to recognize excellence in international media and television to personalities in the media, arts, culture, sports, and other fields "with vision and creativity who affected and inspired the German public that year", both domestic and foreign. First held in 1948, it is the oldest media award in Germany. The trophy is named after Felix Salten's book Bambi, A Life in the Woods and its statuettes are in the shape of the novel's titular fawn character. They were originally made of porcelain until 1958, when the organizers switched to using gold, with the casting done by the art casting workshop of Ernst Strassacker in Süßen.
