Arvid es un apacible empleado de banca, le acaba de dejar su novia por aburrido y para colmo el haber detenido a un ladrón que intentaba atracar el banco donde trabaja sólo le acarrea golpes y amenazas. La mujer del ladrón acude a su casa increpándole su supuesta buena acción porque ahora no van a poder formar una familia. Arvid decide planear un atraco para darle el dinero a la pareja, y para ello recurre al único malhechor que conoce, su hermano Harald, que trabaja de cocinero y que contará con la ayuda de sus tres empleados: Peter, Martin y Vuk.
