Worst Week cuenta la historia de una joven pareja que visita a los padres de ella durante una semana para darles dos noticias “bomba”: se van a casar y ella está embarazada. El planteamiento de la serie se centra en los malentendidos, equivocaciones y la mala suerte que llevan a que el protagonista meta la pata una y otra vez delante de los futuros suegros.
El novio es Sam Briggs (Kyle Bornheimer), un redactor de una revista de entretenimiento que es algo gafe. Está enamorado de Melanie Clayton (Erinn Hates), la dulce, sensata y equilibrada hija de los Clayton.
Por otro lado están los futuros suegros de Sam; Dick (Kurtwood Smith), un severo juez, y Angela (Nancy Lenehan), una mujer con algún que otro problema con el alcohol y las pastillas. Ambos odian a su yerno pero, por amor a su hija, soportan sus continuas meteduras de pata.
En cada uno de los episodios todo lo que le puede salir mal a Sam le saldrá mal… eso sí, gracias a su pésima suerte nos ofrecerá momentos divertidos e hilarantes.
