What a great find!
I didn't expect to feel so upset when they suddenly removed characters who felt so close to me. From the moment I started watching, the show struck me as solid and legendary. It was a lifeline for me, and I loved every episode.I watched almost the entire final season at 1.5x speed, except for the last episode, often in the background, which frustrated me. I was so angry that I just wanted to finish it quickly, even though my favorite characters were still there.
The new actors tried hard and were pretty good. I loved that Jeff, Abed, Britta, and Annie stayed, but it felt like they were forced to overact in some of the later seasons, even in non-parody episodes. There were too many parody episodes for my taste, or maybe it was meant as irony, but I was so annoyed with the changes that I just wanted to get through it.
Still, I’ll rewatch this show someday. Maybe the last three seasons will hit differently then. I’m not sure when, but I’ll rewatch it because I love it so much. After cooling off from the very dramatic final episode, I gave it a 10/10 on IMDb and LikeList, recognizing how great the show is overall. Maybe on a rewatch, I won’t dislike the later seasons.
I truly fell in love with this show, and the first two seasons feel so dear to me.
