Tripp Campbell un chico de 15 años sueña con poder demostrar su habilidad con la guitarra y formar parte de una banda de rock. Su vida cambia cuando gana un concurso de radio para disfrutar de una cena con su banda favorita de rock: “Iron Weasel” una banda de rock con un pasado glorioso y un presente muy poco prometedor. Pero para él es un sueño hecho realidad. Tripp Campbell se unirá a esta banda e intentará que vuelvan a los escenarios como en su reputado pasado. Sin duda esa será su misión aunque para ello tenga que lidiar con un trío de estrellas de rock venidas a menos que ni siquiera pueden pagar su propia vivienda y se instalan en la habitación de invitados de casa de Tripp. Sin embargo, a su estilo, estos tres nuevos “compañeros” harán todo lo posible por ayudar a Tripp a abrirse paso en su etapa de adolescente con el objetivo de convertirlo en una auténtica estrella de rock y darle la oportunidad de hacer realidad su sueño.
