Miranda Hart interpreta en esta serie una versión cómica de su vida, con situaciones semi-autobiográficas, como el ser la dueña de una pequeña tienda de bromas junto a su amiga Stevie. Ella quiere encajar en su grupo de amigas, e intentar conquistar a su amigo Gary al mismo tiempo, pero con su enorme estatura, y su inagotable tendencia a cometer actos embarazosos, siempre termina logrando lo contrario a lo que deseaba. Su madre, mientras tanto, intenta por todos los medios que su hija se case y consiga un trabajo serio de una vez, metiendo a Miranda en más problemas de los que ella.
