Drama judicial ambientado en Los Ángeles. Los protagonistas son los detectives Rex Winters (Skeet Ulrich) y Tomas Jaruszalski (Corey Stoll), que forman parte de una unidad de élite de la policía local. En cada capítulo se resuelve un caso en el que están implicadas personas sin escrúpulos y habituadas a burlar la ley con la ayuda de buenos abogados. Winters es un ex-marine decidido, al que no es fácil hacer cambiar de opinión. Jaruszalski, como hijo de un director de cine polaco ganador de un Oscar, conoce muy bien el lado oscuro de Hollywood.
