El barrio La Colina vive a salvo de las peligrosas pandillas que lo rodean gracias a su líder, Chico, quien evita que las drogas entren a sus calles. Pero cuando Chico es asesinado precisamente por estos motivos, su hermano Hache es quien deberá tomar su lugar. El problema es que la única preocupación de Hache es hacer música. Para sorpresa de todos los que lo creían incapaz de proteger al barrio, será precisamente a través de su música que Hache logrará mantener la paz en las calles de La Colina. Claro que no está solo. Además del grupo de músicos que lo acompañan, Hache es protegido por el maestro Xiang Wu, quien vive en la antigua casita china que corona el barrio, y por Sungaku, el dragón milenario que dormita en la pirámide maya sobre la que está construida La Colina.
