Mauro Murillo es un periodista nacido en Concepción, que se traslada a Santiago a fines de los ochenta. Allí se dedica a la política, para luego derivar a la farándula. En el peak de su carrera sufre un accidente que lo deja inválido. En su búsqueda por reinventarse, y junto a un equipo de cuatro periodistas, funda un medio digital dedicado a golpear a través de diversos reportajes de gran relevancia y que además investiga el asesinato de una colega.
