La historia tiene lugar en Dragon Country. Nonoko es una dentista recién nombrada y su misión es proteger al dragón, el guardián del país, de las bacterias de la caries dental. Un día, en medio de batallas cada vez más feroces con el país vecino, Nonoko encuentra en el diente del dragón a un niño soldado inconsciente del país enemigo. Su nombre es Bell, y el dragón lo resucitó del interior del diente, un fenómeno sobrenatural que, según la leyenda, ocurre antes de un desastre mayor. Mientras Nonoko y Bell atraviesan una serie de feroces batallas, eventualmente aprenden a aceptar su destino.
