En 2008, la lucha por unos terrenos de Ostia, una zona costera cercana a Roma, se convierte en una cruenta batalla entre el crimen organizado, políticos corruptos y El Vaticano. En medio de la disputa se encuentran tres jóvenes: Spadino, un gitano hermano del jefe de un clan, Lele, hijo de un policía, y Aureliano, el hijo rebelde de un mafioso de Ostia.
