福士演じる主人公の黒沢（くろさわ）兵悟（ひょうご）（28）は、かつて窃盗や暴力事件の常習犯だったが、異常に高いIQ、判断力、身体能力を見込まれ、秘密裏に結成された「潜入捜査官チーム」（通称“D班”）の一員に。闇医者、ハッカー、元自衛官という様々な能力を持つD班に課せられる仕事は、犯罪組織に潜入して情報や証拠をつかむ、命を落としかねない特殊捜査だ。しかし兵悟は、危険も顧みず、悪の根源を駆逐するためには手段を選ばず、時に暴力的に、時に冷徹に、犯罪者に立ち向かっていく。
