菅田さん演じる主人公・久能整（くのう・ととのう）は、天然パーマにコンプレックスを持つ、友だちも彼女もひとりもいない、カレーをこよなく愛する大学生。社会で「当たり前のこと」として流されていることに常に疑問を持ち、とことん考え抜く性格で、膨大な知識と独自の価値観による持論をあざやかに展開します。たとえ周囲で何が起きていようとも喋らずにはいられないため、「うざい、面倒くさい」と言われ続けて生きて来た青年です。 そんな整がある日、身に覚えのない殺人事件の容疑をかけられることに。 刑事たちから取り調べを受ける中、整は事件の裏に隠されたヒントや、刑事たちが抱えている悩みの存在に気づいていきます。そして、特に「事件を解決したい」という思いはないまま、ただただ思いつくことをマイペースに話すうちに、いつのまにか事件の謎だけでなく、人の心まで解きほぐしてしまうのです。
