マクー、マドーよりもさらに巨大な悪の組織〝不思議界フーマ〟が活動を開始した。事態を重く見た銀河連邦警察のコム長官は、訓練半ばの宇宙刑事候補生たちを急遽、宇宙刑事に任命、その中に地球の若き考古学者・沢村 大の姿もあった。彼は、古代遺跡文明の謎を解明したその知力と体力を買われ宇宙刑事にスカウトされたのだ。そして大は、宇宙刑事シャイダーとして同じ訓練生であった女刑事アニーと共に、フーマを倒す任務を帯びて地球へ帰ってきた・・・。
