今作の舞台は現代のゲーム業界。那由他は、大手企業や販売元を介さず個人でゲームを制作する、通称「インディー」と呼ばれる若き天才ゲーム開発者。「ジョン・ドゥ」という名前で活動し、誰もその素顔を知らないことから「ゲーム業界のバンクシー」と称されていたが、ある事件をきっかけにゲーム開発から離れ、静かに暮らしていた。その一方で、ある会社が彼を探していた。その会社とは、老舗玩具メーカー「アトム玩具」。海外との価格競争などの影響で、廃業の危機を迎えていた「アトム玩具」は一発逆転の経営再建のために、新業態として「ゲーム制作」へ参入すべく、経営の舵を切る。資金もノウハウも持たないアトムは、藁にも縋る思いで「ゲーム業界のバンクシー」である那由他とコンタクトを取ろうと奔走するが･･･。大手企業や販売元を介さず個人でゲームを制作する、通称「インディー」と呼ばれる天才ゲーム開発者の那由他が中心となり、隼人と海を巻き込んで巨大資本の企業を相手に挑戦の旅に出る。「ものづくり」への情熱は、競争の激しいゲーム業界で新たな伝説を生むことができるのか？
