時は大正時代。悪友に強いられ肝試しとして綾小路博士の屋敷に忍び込んだ神維仲人が、そこで試作品の鋼鉄天使のくるみを発見して偶然起動させてしまう。そのくるみは自分を目覚めさせた仲人をご主人さまと認識し、彼にベッタリとなる。一方、くるみの目覚めの直後から、彼らは途方もない力を秘めた鋼鉄天使である彼女を狙う諸勢力に追い回され、それらと闘っていくことになる。
