人類が外宇宙にまで進出し始めた時代、銀河系にある居住可能な惑星を探す旅に出た宇宙空母ラガーガードは、とある惑星で謎の艦隊と遭遇する。搭乗していたのは、ガルベストン帝国の国民たちだった。瀕死の危機にある母星を旅立った彼らもまた、新たな可住惑星を探していた。ガルベストン帝国探査部隊の襲撃を受けたラガーガードは、安芸マナブをリーダーとする15名のラガーチームを出動させる。そうして15体合体ロボ・ダイラガーと、ガルベストン帝国との戦闘が始まったのだった。ガルベストン側も決して一枚岩とは言えず、和平を望むテレス司令官の尽力で、休戦協定が結ばれることになるのだが…。
