ある日、玄野計は地下鉄のホームで小学生時代の親友だった加藤勝を見かける。正義感の強い加藤は線路上に落ちた酔っ払いを助けようとするが1人では抱え上げられず玄野に手伝いを求める。2人はホームに戻り損ね、線路に進入してきた電車に轢かれて死んでしまう。次の瞬間、彼らはマンションの一室にいた。そこには同じように死んだはずの人々が集められていた。部屋の中央にある謎の大きな黒い球。彼らは、その「ガンツ」と呼ばれる球に、理由もわからないまま星人を「やっつける」ように指示され、別の場所へと強制的に転送されていく。
