「現代の医師が、もし幕末へタイムスリップしたらどうなるか？」を描いた、SF要素の強い医療漫画。西暦2000年の現代から幕末の日本へタイムスリップした脳外科医・南方仁が、過去の人間の運命を変えていることを自覚しつつも人々を救うため、現代から持ち込んだ知識と幕末の人々の協力により、近代医療を実現していく。その過程で仁は、日本の歴史自体にも大きな関わりを持つようになっていく。
