7年前の両親の事故死以来バラバラになっていた兄弟が、さまざまな困難や葛藤を乗り越えて懸命に生きる姿を描く。九州の実業団で陸上選手として活躍していた柏木家の長男・達也（江口洋介）は、自身の婚約を報告するため兄弟たちの元を訪ねる。最初は達也を拒絶していた兄弟たちだが、やがて達也の下で一緒に暮らし始める。
