Вернувшись в родной город после того, как его выгнали из токийской школы, спортсмен Кимитика Хайдзима вступает в волейбольный клуб в местной старшей школе, где встречается со своим другом детства — Юни Куробой. Юни обладает отличными физическими данными, а вот психически не слишком закалён и может спасовать под давлением ответственности.
