Действие происходит в маленьком японском городке в наше время. Маленькая девочка Чисэ признается Сюдзи в любви (как всегда методом записки), каково было её удивление когда, так называемый, Сю-тян отвечает ей взаимностью. Она пытается быть все время с ним, но её работа не позволяет этого. Сюдзи часто называет её дурочкой, медлительной и неуклюжей девочкой. Все бы было хорошо если бы при обстреле этого города он не увидел сквозь пыль разрушений силуэт Чисэ. Сначала ему показалось что это мираж, но после того как она подошла к нему сомнений быть не могло!!! Как оказалось Чисэ-биоробот, созданный для полного уничтожения противника!!! При первом же обстреле у Сюдзи умирает один из лучших друзей. После этого момента он все больше убеждается что любит Чисэ.
