Зим — амбициозный представитель расы Иркен, отправленный на Землю якобы за полезной информацией для подготовки планеты к захвату империей Иркен. По крайней мере, так он думает. В действительности же лидеры Иркена просто отослали его в самый дальний уголок вселенной, чтобы избавиться от надоедливого захватчика.
Вместе со своим вечно глючащим робиком Гиром, Зим относится к миссии очень ответственно. Поскольку информации о будущем поле боя пока что очень мало, Зим решает влиться в толпу земных школьников и постепенно осуществлять свои разрушительные замыслы.
