Гордон Шамвей, он же Альф, родился 28 октября 1756 года по земному летоисчислению на планете Мелмак в семье Фло и Боба Шамвеев. Он был назван в честь бабушки - одной из немногих женщин на Мелмаке, которые могут расколоть зубами блок древесины. Гордон - симпатяга ростом 91 сантиметр, у него 3 пальца на лапах и 4 - на ногах, но главное - у всех жителей Мелмака всего 4 зуба, поэтому быть стоматологом на этой планете очень приятно!
