Однажды иммигрант из Японии Хамато Йоши купил себе домашних питомцев — четырех черепашек. Но под воздействием мутагена Йоши превратился в полукрысу-получеловека Сплинтера, а черепашки выросли до огромных размеров и обрели человеческие черты и качества.
