У Нины Уитлей было всё: успешная карьера в крупной юридической фирме, любимый человек, друзья.. или так ей казалось. После того как уже бывший возлюбленный объявляет о своей помолвке, а повышение достаётся её лучшей подруге, нервы Нины не выдерживают. Устроив сцену, она уходит из привычного мира дорогих костюмов, шикарных обедов и гостиниц, и единственным местом, где ей удаётся найти работу, оказывается офис государственного защитника.
