Несколько лет назад Му Джин-хёк был лучшим детективом в отделе, пока от рук серийного убийцы не погибла его жена. Детектив Му не смог простить себе её смерть. Опустился, испортился, но продолжал тайно искать убийцу. Но детектив Му — далеко не единственный, кто одержим этой охотой. Выпускница полицейской академии Кан Гвон-джу работала в телефонной службе спасения, когда в полицию сообщили об очередной жертве серийного убийцы. Её отец — тоже полицейский — был первым, кто прибыл на место преступления и, в итоге, погиб от рук маньяка. Кан слышала это в прямом эфире и навсегда запомнила голос убийцы. После смерти отца девушка отправилась в Америку, чтобы учиться на профессионального следователя-профайлера, эксперта по идентификации голосов.
