Lúc đó, thượng tướng của liên minh - Lâm Tĩnh Hằng bị người ta hãm hại, lưu lạc vất vưởng tới hệ hành tinh thứ 8, làm quen được với Lục Tất Hành, một thanh niên trong lòng tràn đầy lý tưởng giáo dục. Thế nhưng cuộc sống nơi đây trông như rất bình dị thực tế lại sóng ngầm cuộn trào mãnh liệt. Liên minh lật đổ, hải tặc hoành hành, hai con người phải dẫn dắt những "tàn thứ phẩm" thực hiện các hành trình mạo hiểm giữa các vì sao, bóc trần tầng tầng sự thật.
