Each week, 20 contestants compete in a series of challenges in an attempt to win £10,000. These challenges are based in large pools of water or mud and generally involve large assault courses that participants must cross.

From the side of the course, co-host Amanda Byram will be stifling laughs as contestants bravely tackle the Sucker Punch with added paint power, the brilliantly bouncy Big Red Balls and the disaster waiting to happen that is Double Cross. Four rounds of torment and terror, mud and mayhem are worth it for one lucky contestant though, as he or she will be crowned the Total Wipeout champion and pocket a cheque for £10,000.
