"【大青蛙布偶秀】（The Muppet Show）是由 Jim Henson 以及他的團隊於１９７６年在美推出的電視節目，這個載歌載舞的綜藝節目，深受全美兒童的喜愛，後來更推出了好幾部電影，第一部推出的就是在１９７９年所推出的【大青蛙布偶電影】（The Muppet Movie），這也成為影史上第一部由布偶結合真人所共同主演的電影。迪士尼公司於２００４年２月買下了 Jim Henson 《布偶系列》的所有作品版權，因此如今本片也成為迪士尼旗下的作品了。 【大青蛙布偶電影】是布偶秀明星們初次登上大銀幕的作品，也是一部跟電視節目同樣型態的歌舞類作品。本片的故事的主角大青蛙 Kermit 想出名想瘋了，在別人的慫恿之下，決定起身西行到好萊塢一圓明星夢，在這跨越千里的旅途中，他遇上了不少好朋友，包括豬小妹 Miss Piggy 、小熊 Fozzie 、Gonzo …等等，大家都跟隨 Kermit 要前往好萊塢實現夢想，但是這時候卻有一位心懷不軌的 Doc Hopper ，想要把 Kermit 騙去當他連鎖餐廳的代言人，到底布偶們能不能克服難關呢？ 本片是由 James Frawley 執導，由 Jack Burns 和 Jerry Juhl 共同擔任編劇，片中擔任布偶配音的都是原來【大青蛙布偶秀】電視節目的配音者，其中本系列的創始人 Jim Henson 在電影中更是一人擔任包括主角 Kermit 等七、八個角色，其他配音者還包括有 Frank Oz 、Richard Hunt 、Jerry Nelson 、Dave Goelz …等等，而片中由真人主演的反派 Doc Hopper 則是由 Charles Durning 所飾演。本片的配樂以及片中歌曲的作曲是由 Paul Williams 負責，至於幫歌曲作詞的則是 Kenny Ascher ，本片的配樂和歌曲“The Rainbow Connection”還獲得該年奧斯卡金像獎的題名，本片的電影原聲帶則已經絕版多年，目前在美國二手市場叫價不斐。"
