机动搜查队，简称“MIU”，在警察内部被誉为 “万金油”，是拼尽全力抓捕罪犯的专业搜查队伍，他们需要在24小时内解决各种案件。“警视厅刑事部第四机动搜查队”是作为警视厅劳动改革的一环创造出的一支临时部队。行动力出色但没有机动调查经验，也缺乏刑警常识的伊吹蓝，经常以超前思维来理清事件来龙去脉的的志摩一未，同隶属于第四机搜队，MIU404便是他们的号码。这两人成为搭档，一起解决案件。
