“堂本瞬一”是一名小学生，他拥有异于常人的运动神经，擅长任何运动，并有著不服输的精神。有一次，他和弁庆在超速YOYO比赛中，碰到了北条院。在领教了北条院精湛的技术后，得知两人之间的实力悬殊，由于不服输的个性，加上YOYO无法抗拒的魅力，瞬一从此迷上超速YOYO，并立志超越北条院。 为了向北条院挑战，瞬一决定参加全日本YOYO大赛，比赛之前接受了中村名人的指点，进行严格训练…… YOYO大赛破例在现场举行选拔赛，于是瞬一努力争取参赛权。 最后与强劲敌手刚志不分胜负，主办者决定让他们两人都参加。瞬一好不容易取得参赛资格，但是他的YOYO却在预赛中坏掉了，在别无选择的情况下，他决定用成美玩具店老板和中村教师研发的新型YOYO-HYPER DRAGON（ 超速龙球）。 虽然这个YOYO拥有不可思议的力量，但是面对陌生的武器，等待瞬一的将会是什麼？
