梦工厂和尼克儿童频道携手推出的电视版《功夫熊猫》集中讲述熊猫阿宝在成为“神龙大侠”不久后又面对重重考验，剧情将填补两部电影版《功夫熊猫》之间的空隙，熊猫“阿宝”的传奇故事，将在电视剧中被演绎得更加完整清晰、跌宕起伏。电视版《功夫熊猫》出现不少新角色，对阿宝造成不小威胁。“中国元素”仍将成为电视版《功夫熊猫》的亮点。
