围绕着一个无人的火山孤岛上住着的一只鬣狗（Zig）和一只寄居蟹，小岛附近海里住着的一条美人鱼和一条鲨鱼（Sharko），所展开的一系列故事。有着《猫和老鼠》般简单又搞笑的情节：Zig总是想方设法去吃美人鱼Marina，善良聪明的寄居蟹Bernie是Zig的跟班，强壮的Sharko是思想单纯的Marina的同居男友，Zig打不过Sharko，总是让Bernie协助他完成一些歪点子。每集会出现一些配角，例如金钱豹、食人鱼、海豚、魔术师等。不过真的一句对白都没有（《猫和老鼠》有时候还有角色用英语对话），因此毫无国界，非常适合儿童观赏。
