本作是由老牌巨头动画公司东映企划的项目。监督启用了制作过2010年《FRESH光之美少女》剧场动画，并且凭借此片出道的新锐监督松本理恵。故事以时间停止的京都为舞台，这个世界是人类与妖怪并存的世界。伴随着现实总数与负熵的崩溃，3大势力围绕着寻找“黑兔”展开了故事。
