李韺（朴宝剑饰）是朝鲜第23代国王纯祖的长子，个性冷漠挑剔，19岁起就代替被恶疾缠身的父亲听政；洪乐瑥（金裕贞饰）从懂事起就被母亲要求女扮男装，从小被当男生养大，承担起家庭的重担，8岁时与母亲分离，长大後为人写情书、分析爱情策略赚钱。李韺出宫去见与妹妹互通情书的男人，却看到洪乐瑥假扮的“洪三耆”，两人不打不相识，洪三耆意外被卖入宫中当内官，这才知道李韺原来是世子。为了好好虐待洪内官，李韺无所不用其极，却发现自己愈来愈喜欢眼前这个“男人”。
