这一天，三姐妹家来了一位从小岛上来的客人，一个与三妹年龄相仿的外国小男孩祖尔，还有一只奇怪但是满可爱的小动物，有一点象北欧神话里的龙，大概是他的宠物吧。小男孩带来一封信，邀请三姐妹到太平洋上印尼附近的一个岛国巴鲁去，因为所有的花费都不用她们出，于是三姐妹和祖尔一起踏上了往遥远南方小岛的征途。谁知到了那里，才知道巴鲁是一个很小的岛，岛上的居民还过着相当落后的生活。他们的大哥旅行到了岛上，被岛上的神“里奥兰卡”选为了国王，可是前不久独自出海后就再没有回来，现在兰卡要在三姐妹中选出一个新的王，而且兰卡会无论到哪里都会一直跟随着王。三姐妹当然不相信这么离奇的话，可是当她们被带到一个古老的遗迹前时，小岛之神里奥兰卡巨大的身躯从地底冒了出来，三姐妹不得不相信眼前的现实。之后三姐妹又回到了日本，随后兰卡就从小岛上消失了。于是就发生了一开始兰卡大闹东京的一幕。 经过一场风波，日本政府决定把海原家划为巴鲁国的大使馆，兰卡作为国王的私有财产受到法律的保护，三姐妹的生活从此不再平静，更另人担心的是隐隐之中一个叫“虚神会”的神秘组织好象在幕后搞着什么阴谋。
