Keitarô versucht schon das dritte Mal, an der prestigeträchtigsten Uni Japans, der Tôdai, aufgenommen zu werden. Und zwar, weil er es vor 15 Jahren seiner Sandkastenliebe versprochen hat. Er flüchtet vor seinen nörgelnden Eltern, um bei seiner Oma Hina Unterschlupf zu finden. Kaum angekommen, landet er im ersten Fettnäpfchen. Die Zeiten haben sich geändert, und Omas Hotel wurde ohne Keitarôs Wissen zum Mädchenpensionat umfunktioniert. Keitarô glaubt schon, der Hahn im Korb zu sein, wären da nicht die aufbrausende Naru und das Schwertschwingende Kendo-Mädchen Motoko.
