Vor 1000 Jahren hat ein namenloser Held das Böse versiegelt. Jetzt hat es sich wieder befreit. Der König setzt alles daran, den Dämonenkönig wieder zurückzutreiben und versammelt die Nachfahren des Helden um sich. Da nach 1000 Jahren aber nicht mehr ganz sicher ist, wer Nachfahre ist und wer nicht, werden kurzerhand 75 junge Männer ausgewählt. Als Nummer 45 geht der junge Alba ins Rennen, der im Held-sein aber mal so gar keine Erfahrung hat. Unterstützung bekommt er von Soldat Ross, der aber eigentlich besseres zu tun hätte.
