Como cada final de temporada, la gran familia del fútbol francés celebra a sus héroes con sonrisas, selfies, y, sobre todo, premios. Es la noche de los Trofeos UNFP. Pero la gala se tuerce cuando, delante de las cámaras, Fodé Thiam, un futbolista negro, y jugador estrella, le propina un violento cabezazo a su entrenador y lo llama 'sucio toubab' (toubab significa 'blanco' en wolof). Comienza entonces una guerra mediática liderada por dos mujeres: Sam Berger, la directora de comunicación del club, y Marie Kinsky, una humorista muy controvertida que no duda en instrumentalizar el acontecimiento alimentando las tensiones identitarias y las divisiones sociales que están resquebrajando el país.
