Superboy es una serie de televisión de acción real de media hora basada en los primeros años de Kal-El como Superboy. Representaba las aventuras de Superboy durante sus años universitarios, sus encuentros con Lex Luthor y su romance con Lana Lang. La serie fue llevada a la pantalla por los productores ejecutivos Ilya y Alexander Salkind, quienes fueron los productores de las tres primeras películas de Superman y la película Supergirl de 1984.

As Superboy tries to return Luthor, he and an alternate Dr. Winger attack him with kryptonite.

Lana and Luthor, lovers in this world, are leading a revolution to overthrow the Sovereign. Lana arms herself with kryptonite bomb to destroy the Sovereign, hurting both versions of Superboy. But when she sets off the bomb, killing them both, the first alternate Superboy rescues the original Superboy from the kryptonite-laden shockwave. When all is done, Superboy destroys the portal.
