La serie se ambienta en una galaxia lejana donde los habitantes del planeta Qresh han colonizado sus tres lunas creando mundos diferentes, más conocidos como Quead. Las diferencias sociales y económicas de estos nuevos mundos hacen que el gobierno cuente con un grupo de cazarecompensas llamados Killjoys para aliviar el descontento de la población. Este grupo de agentes apolíticos solo viven para cumplir órdenes. Está protagonizada por Aaron Ashmore que interpreta a John, Hannah John-Kamen como Dutch y Luke Macfarlane como D’Avin, hermano de John. Deben enfrentarse al gobierno por inclumplir aquello para lo que han sido contratados.
