Казалось, ничто не в силах помешать стремительному восхождению к вершинам карьеры детектива Эдриана Монка. Но нераскрытое убийство любимой жены - Труди - явилось слишком сильным ударом для суперпрофессионала. Пережитая драма повлекла за собой серьезные психологические расстройства, абсолютно несовместимые с работой в полиции. И службу пришлось оставить.
