Сериал рассказывает о группе американских военнопленных, заключенных в немецкий концлагерь во время Второй мировой войны. Товарищами по несчастью руководит изобретательный полковник Хоган, который даже будучи в плену, находит множество возможностей саботировать врага. Комендант лагеря полковник Клинк хочет только одного — чтобы у него не было проблем с начальством. Так что пока заключенные ведут себя спокойно и не «высовываются», их наказание больше похоже на курорт.
