故事讲述资深警探Danny Frater去一家医院停尸间，对一名年轻女子尸体例行身份检查时，他发现那竟是自己疏远已久的女儿Christina。根据验尸报告，Christina是自杀身亡。尽管两人近几年父女关系很复杂，但Danny拒绝相信女儿会结束自己的生命。他开始寻找真相，追溯她生命里最后几天和几小时发生的事情，在这场痛苦的调查中，以期弄明白自己唯一的孩子到底发生了什么。
